FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for producing multilayer pipes, including thin-walled, in particular of bimetallic pipes from precious metals. Tubular billet with lower melting point is made from first metal alloy, which components form solid solution with low-melting eutectic phase. Second tubular blank is made from second metal alloy with addition of metal forming eutectic phase in first metal alloy. External tubular blank is installed coaxially to inside tubular blank and external tubular blank is crimped to tight contact of their adjacent surfaces to form bimetal tubular billet. Diffusion welding is performed by bimetal tubular workpiece heating to temperature above low-melting eutectic phase melting point, but lower than that of first metal alloy. After diffusion welding obtained bimetallic pipe is cooled down.
EFFECT: method provides high strength of diffusion joint.
