FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to gas-discharge equipment and can be used in designing switching devices intended for equipment and communication lines protection against overvoltage. Device comprises dielectric cylinders (2, 3) coaxially installed relative to each other, limiting discharge gap (4) on sides. At cylinders (2, 3) ends electrodes (5, 6) are installed, which form discharge gap (4). Metal rod (9) connected bushing (8) and cup (7) with electrodes (6) output is installed coaxially with dielectric cylinders (2, 3). Cup (7) bottom is made flexible. Gas-discharge gap (4) is filled with working gas, for example, argon and hydrogen mixture at pressure of 5-20 torr.
EFFECT: technical result is creation of switching device, which withstands several hundreds of powerful discharges and providing reliable protection against overvoltage.
