FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to discharge technology and can be used in designing discharging devices, particularly dischargers, meant for switching high energy levels, protecting devices and communication lines from excess voltage. The device contains main electrodes (1, 2) with current leads (3, 4). Electrodes (1, 2) form the main discharge gap (5). Main electrode (1) and additional electrode (6) form an additional discharge gap (7). In electrode (1) there is a hole (8) into which an ignitor electrode (9) is put with clearance, touching the end of additional electrode (6). The other end of the ignitor electrode (9) is connected through an additional switching device (10) to electrode (1). Current lead (11) of the additional electrode (6) is connected to the current lead (3) of main electrode (2) on the side of the current lead (4) of main electrode (1).
EFFECT: design of a reliable switching device, with stable operation in high-current mode with charge per pulse.
