FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway automation and telemechanics systems for controlling filling of hump yard tracks. Method involves exposure to uncoupling elements to groups of sensors, formation by sensor of a control section of an occupancy signal and transmission thereof over communication lines to a processing unit, determination of boundaries of section on location of latter in direction of uncoupling of sensor, generating number of signals, equal to number of uncoupling axes. Boundary of occupancy is specified on location, following last, sensor and number of signals generated by same.
EFFECT: simplified design and improved operating characteristics.
