SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway automation and telemechanics. Method for remote detection of passage of rolling stock wheel pairs involves changing in magnetic conductor by means of wheel magnetic flux, transformation of last information signal and its perception by fact of detection thereof. Information signal used is radiation flux in a light guide, part of magnetic conductor is made of magnetic fluid, and radiation flux is transformed by varying dispersion thereof in environment by moving magnetic fluid relative cladding-free core of light guide.
EFFECT: broader functional capabilities.
