METHOD OF TRANSPLANTATION OF DESCEMET'S MEMBRANE Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC A61B17/00

Abstract RU 2600158 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and can be used for surgical management of primary and secondary endothelial corneal dystrophy. Descemet's membrane (DM) of the donor is separated from the stroma at made circular notch on 1-2 mm towards the centre. Separated edge grasp with tweezers and sipping for DM towards the centre of the cornea, DM is stripped to half of the cornea. Stripped half of the DM is laid back. In a similar method is gripped edge of the DM in opposite meridian and stripped of the second half of the DM. After complete stripping of the DM additionally its staining on the side of stroma, on the periphery of the DM it is cut out a orienting edge notch in the form of a not isosceles triangle, on the surface of the endothelium of the separated DM is applied thin viscoelastic strip at the center. Using tweezers DM is folded to form a dupication, doubled DM is placed in a disposable injector, pushed it to the tip of the injector needle or a spatula. Before implantation of DM for recipient is performed iridectomy on 6 h, for the DM is implanted donor through injector by means of jet of balanced saline solution in the form of a duplicator with endothelial layer facing the inside. Air, fixing the DM, is left in the anterior chamber of the recipient to complete physiological resorption.

EFFECT: method enables reducing a rate of such complications as gap of Descemet's membrane at the stage of its separation, implantation and spreading in the anterior chamber of the recipient, and also considerably reduces a trauma of endothelial cells of donor DM at all stages of surgical intervention.
