FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrochemical production of iridium powder with large specific surface, which can be used in devices for catalyzing of combustion of multicomponent fuels at temperatures of up to 2,100°C without change of chemical composition and loss of shape. Electrolysis is carried out in an electrochemical cell, formed by cathode in form of container with chloride melt of KCl-NaCl and anode in form of iridium sample arranged coaxially to container at ratio of cathode and anode current density from 0.05 to 10.
EFFECT: obtaining iridium powder with specific surface area more than 5 m2/g.
