FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrochemical production and refining of noble metals. Proposed method comprises electrolytic refining of noble metals in the melt of alkaline metal chlorides that contains 1-8 wt % of noble metals. Process is carried out in airtight conditions at 400-850°C while metal being refined is used as anode. Note here that 0.5-100 weight parts of electrolyte per one weight part of anode are used at relationship between total amount of impurities in anode (in g/atom) and total amount of metal ions in the melt making 0.001-0.4.
EFFECT: simplified and accelerated process.
