FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to piston ring, use thereof and its production method. Piston ring (1) is made with base (10) and applied on it wear protective coating (20), which has at least first element, which melting point is Tm ≤ 700 °C. In wear protective coating from (20) is included, at least, second element with melting point Tm > 760 °C. Wear protective coating has inclusions (30) with diameter (D), which contain at least first element, wherein at least 90 % of inclusions (30) have value of 1 mcm ≤ D ≤ 10 mcm. Method of wear protective coating making (20) using arc evaporation method envisages, that storage electrode material has at least first element with melting point Tm ≤ 700 °C and at least, second element with melting point Tm > 760 °C, wherein second element is included into storage electrode material in such amount, that storage electrode material melting point (Tm) makes ≥ 1,000 °C.
EFFECT: invention increases device reliability due to reduction of piston ring and device conjugated elements own wear.
