FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of materials engineering and can be used in obtaining stable suspensions and coatings on substrates. Method of functionalisation of detonation nanodiamond (DND) surface lies in impact on nanodiamond powder with gamma-irradiation in inert gas flow at temperature 300-350°C to absorbed dose of irradiation 5-15 Mrad in presence of fluorine-containing substance - polytetrafluoroethylene. Nanodiamond powder is placed on cylindrical vessel from polytetrafluoroethylene, powder layers in vessel being horizontal gas-permeable membranes from polytetrafluoroethylene. Necessity to apply operations with liquid media is excluded, method productivity is increased with obtaining large amounts of fluoridated DNA.
EFFECT: formation of concentrations of thermally stable fluorine-containing functional groups on the surface of nanodiamonds and high homogeneity of the level of their surface functionalisation are provided.
