FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a liquid crystal optical devices and their control electrodes. Liquid crystal optical instrument includes at least one liquid crystal layer placed between substrates bearing guide layers, and electrode structure with holes and low-conductivity material within the aperture of said structure to provide spatially modulated electric field. Electrode structure with holes is made with possibility of changing the phase front in the liquid crystal layer due to presence of conductive structure of the floating electrode which is less than the said aperture and is external with respect to said electrode structure, over the aperture.

EFFECT: technical result is elimination of undesirable deviation of the wave front.
