SUBSTANCE: invention relates to projector and projector control method. Projector includes image projection unit, controller configured to make module projection projecting correcting image so that it is applied on image, projected currently, image module for correcting image capturing and module for correcting distortion correction based on state of correcting image captured by image module. Controller compels projection module to update state of projection of image projected currently, so that it reflects result of process of correction of distortion, and makes projection module project correcting image in state, in which cannot be reflected result of process of correction of distortion, when repeatedly correction module performs correction of distortion, during period from moment when condition is satisfied beginning of distortion correction process, to moment when condition is satisfied for correction of distortion.

EFFECT: technical result is reduction of computational load in process of correction.
