FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to surfaces, exhibiting superhydrophobic properties when treated with a composition, comprising a water-based, non-organic solvent. Superhydrophobic surface comprises a substrate treated with a composition, comprising: a hydrophobic component, which represents a water-dispersible hydrophobic polymer, selected from a group consisting of fluorinated and/or perforated polymers, hydrophilic nano-structured particles and water, composition does not contain organic solvent. Hydrophobic component and nano-structured particles are present in an amount of from 1.0 % to 3.0, wt%, by weight of the composition weight, hydrophobic component to nano- structured particle wt. ratio is from 1:1 to 4:1, the water is present in an amount of from 95 % to 99 %, by weight of the composition.

EFFECT: obtaining a completely water-based superhydrophobic surface.
