Method and apparatus for transmission of media content in a multimedia are provided. Method consists in following stages: determining a transmission unit to transmit at least one source of multimedia relating to media content generating a data stream, including header information and the at least one multimedia source according to the determined transmission unit, the data unit includes at least one sub-unit, which contains the counter value, indicating the number of at least one next sub-unit, and each unit data is processed independently; and the data stream in a communication network.
