SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and device transmitting media content for encapsulating media transport (hereinafter – MMT) assets of the Moving Picture Expert Group (hereinafter – MPEG) standard in the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) of basic media files. A device with a receiving path scheme with the possibility of receiving an MPEG MMT container and a processing device with the possibility of identifying locations of one or more media fragment units (MFU) in the MMT container using a hint track in the MMT container are proposed.
