SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of compound electrode pitch producing for carbon materials and articles therefrom making, particularly, to production and preparation of electrode pitch intended for production of anode mass, coal and graphite products, structural coal-graphite materials, and can be used in coke-chemical industry. Method involves coal-tar resin thermal treatment via combined distillation of coal tar together with coals low temperature pyrolysis product of or with coals low temperature pyrolysis distillation product residue in ratio from 90:10 to 40:60 wt% at temperature of not more than 420°C in liquid phase. Coals low temperature pyrolysis product is semi-coking resin.

EFFECT: using given method allows to improve binder pitch quality characteristics and reduce Benz(a)pyrene content.
