FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to coke-chemical industry, particularly to a method of producing binder pitch, which can be used as a replacement of coal-tar pitch for production of anode mass, coal and graphite products, structural-graphite materials. Method involves oxidation of coal-tar resin with atmospheric oxygen to obtain binder pitch. Coal tar used is heavy resin from semi-coking with density of 1.00 g/cm3 to 1.1 g/cm3, obtained at temperature of coal pyrolysis 500-600 °C, wherein oxidation with atmospheric oxygen is performed at 200-400 °C for 10-30 minutes with air supply in an amount of 20-60 l/kg of coal-tar resin at atmospheric pressure.
EFFECT: obtained binding pitch has melting point close to that of traditional coal-tar pitch, wherein content of benz(a)pyrene is reduced 20 times.
