SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device for connecting pipes and a method for making a locking element to connect pipes for continuous and tight connection of male end (1) with coupling (2), wherein device for pipe connection comprises closed crimp ring (4), which has a variable size and consists of multiple links (3) movably arranged relative to each other, which can be pressed against male end (1) with pressing force (S) using means of force transfer (14), wherein at least one link has locking element (8), which has teeth (5, 6) turned to the male end; the teeth have a base, first tooth side edge, second tooth side edge and top, wherein at least one tooth (5, 6) is wider at its base then on its top, wherein at least one tooth (5, b) has an internal slot.
EFFECT: invention improves connection reliability.
