FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to decontamination of loose materials. In method loose material is exposed sequentially and continuously in two stage. At first stage loose material is fixed during movement thereof with conveyor relative to UV radiators. At second stage there is forced change of orientation of particles relative to each other and relative to UV irradiator by vibration unit, and simultaneously exposed to ozone with concentration of 0.03-0.1 mg/m3 in air. Device consists of loading unit, transportation means of at least three UV radiators, vibration unit and unloading unit in form of a storage hopper. Above open part of hopper there is, not engaged with it mechanically, a UV irradiator with bactericidal lamps, at least one of which is ozone-generating.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of decontamination of loose materials while preserving their consumer properties.
