FIELD: preservation edible seeds.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises affecting the product by ultraviolet radiation, during which the orientation of several particles is changed with respect to the radiation source during its movement. The wavelength of the ultraviolet radiation used ranges from 185 to 400 nm, pulse duration ranges from 1 ms to 10 ms, and density of pulse radiation power at the product to be treated is at least 100 kW/m2. The device comprise charging unit, source of ultraviolet radiation, means for transporting the product to be treated, and unit for discharging. The source of the ultraviolet radiation is made of a pulse gas-discharging lamp connected with the power source with accumulator, charging device, and ignition block.
EFFECT: improved quality of disinfection.
