FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical immunology and microbiology, namely to laboratory diagnostics and is intended for determining antimicrobial peptide (AMP) total activity in clinical samples of saliva, urine, vaginal and skin discharges. For this purpose, the samples is being thermostatically controlled for 2 hours Candida albicans cell suspension of a certain optical density with subsequent centrifugation and addition of bromocresol purple for staining dead cells. Obtained precipitate is being microscoped, photographed, data is being transferred to the computer, and number of dead cells is being calculated by formula: percentage of dead cells = (number of dead cells in the sample/number of dead cells + number of living cells in the sample) × 100 - (number of dead cells in the sample/number of dead cells + number of living cells in the control) × 100. Percentage of dead cells shows the AMP total activity.

EFFECT: invention provides determining AMP total activity as a marker of tissue immunity state of various epithelial tissues and quantitative assessing ability of various loci to resist infectious agents.
