SUBSTANCE: invention refers to pharmacy and microbiology. What is presented is the use of human serum albumin (HSA) in concentration from 49 to 71 mg/ml as an antimicrobial agent destroying microbial cells.

EFFECT: technical result consists in the purpose of: not only inhibiting growth of Escherichia coli, Candida albicans, Staphylococcus aureus, Cryptococcus neoformans, but also destruction of cells with formation of debris in physiological concentrations of HSA; invention provides the ability to use HSA as an antimicrobial agent and use it as an indicator of antimicrobial activity of blood serum in patients.
