FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and is intended for conservative treatment of purulent corneal ulcer. In the method of treatment of purulent corneal ulcer to conventional antibacterial therapy with use of tobramicine or ciprofloxacin instillations are added in the conjunctival cavity solution lactoferrin in phases of infiltration, ulceration and epithelization and before the beginning of cicatrix forming. At that the lactoferrin concentration is 0.5-5.0 mg/ml, and installations of the lactoferrin solution in the conjunctival cavity carry out 3 times a day on 2 drops.
EFFECT: using of the invention allows to reduce the higher clinical effectiveness in treatment of purulent corneal ulcer due to reduction of intensity of oxidative stress, enhancing of the antibacterial activity of antimicrobial preparations and acceleration of a epithelization of the cornea.
