FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of producing highly dispersed colloidal particles or silver nanoparticles, which can be used in biotechnology, medicine and veterinary science as part of preparations with antibacterial action, as well as in production of catalysts for chemical processes. Method of producing water-soluble composition of silver nanoparticles involves preparation separately in water of a solution of polyvinyl pyrrolidone for medical purposes with concentration of 5-40 wt% and silver nitrate solution, which after dissolution of components are mixed based on end concentration of silver nitrate in terms of silver 0.1-2.5 wt% and weight ratio of silver/polymer from 1:10 to 1:20. Then, electrolysis is carried out using silver cathode and anode while stirring and heating at 90-95 °C until complete transition of ionic silver into colloidal silver.
EFFECT: technical result is increase of specific antimicrobial activity, reduced toxicity of water-soluble composition of silver nanoparticles, high output of colloidal silver.
