FIELD: instrument making.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for calibration of a computed tomography (CT) image. Invention consists in carrying out the following: placing a fixed calibration element outside the area of the channel and within the limits of maximum area of reconstruction of the computed tomography (CT) scanner and saving theoretical value of fixed calibration element; acquisition of projection data of fixed calibration element to obtain actual reconstructed image of fixed calibration element; and comparison of actual reconstructed image with the stored corresponding theoretical value to establish a mapping function to correct actual reconstructed image to the theoretical value.
EFFECT: technical result is calibration quality improvement.
