SUBSTANCE: object is scanned with a high-energy double-energy radiation in order to obtain values of the high-energy double-energy projection. The projection values of coefficients of the main material, which correspond to values of the double-energy projection, are calculated based on a reference table created beforehand or through analytical solving of a system of equations, and an image of the distribution of coefficients of the main material is obtained based on projection values of the coefficients of the main material.

EFFECT: possibility of accurate and efficient identification of material when examining bulky cargo with high-energy X-rays.
