FIELD: image processing means.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to scanning device (10, 10') to scan object (12). Scanning device (10) comprises projection unit (16) for projecting installation image (28) onto object (12), wherein said setting image (28) comprises main structure (26); image capturing unit (18) for capturing direct image (30) of object (12) provided by camera, wherein said direct image (30) produced by camera comprises derived structure (32) of main structure (26), wherein derived structure (32) represents said projected mounting image (28) in a view from the position of the image pickup unit, and unit (22, 22') to provide indication of the correct position and/or the correct orientation of scanner (10) relative to object to be scanned (12) on the base of captured direct image (30) provided by the camera.

EFFECT: technical result consists in increasing the accuracy of finding the correct position of the scanning device.
