SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a system, which comprises an aerosol-generating device and a charging device to accomodate the aerosol-generating device. Aerosol-generating system comprises elongated aerosol-generating device (100), which has a polygonal cross section; and charging device (600), which comprises cavity (602), which has a polygonal cross section corresponding to polygonal cross section of the aerosol-generating device, herewith the cavity is designed to receive the elongated aerosol-generating device and comprises a means of positioning the aerosol-generating device in the charging device, herewith the positioning means comprises at least one concave arranged to enclose at least one appropriate ledge on the aerosol-generating device, wherein the said at least one ledge is a button designed to activate the aerosol-generating device, wherein the said polygon contains at least 6 sides.

EFFECT: technical result is provision of an aerosol-generating system, which comprises an aerosol-generating device and a secondary device for charging the aerosol-generating device, which reduces the possibility of an incorrect connection of the aerosol-generating device with the secondary device.
