FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurement equipment and can be used for measuring density of mobile ions in composite media based on liquid crystals. Method of determining density of mobile ions is that to an electrically controlled device serially applied are several voltages of an electric field with different amplitude in the form of rectangular pulses. Then, after removing each of the applied voltage waveforms are measured of the charges draining current. Integration results of obtained oscillograms of the current by time are used to calculate by dividing into the volume of medium the density of mobile ions in a LC medium and a dependence of the obtained values of density on the voltage is built. Maximum density, at which the obtained dependence reaches saturation corresponds to the effective value of ions density present in composite media based on liquid crystals.
EFFECT: invention provides higher accuracy and a simpler method of determining the effective value of ions density in composite media based on LC.
