FIELD: acoustics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device and method of reducing the noise of exhaust gases. Proposed resonance exhaust gas silencer operates as follows. Flow of exhaust gases together with a wide range of sonic flow occur through the inlet nozzle. When flows (gas and sonic) pass through, a vibrating effect occurs at the end of pipe with a spiral opening and an acoustic reflecting screen that causes opposing vibrations on the moving sonic flow. Second stage of reduction is a sharply widening passage and passing through openings with blades in the lower wide part of the cone, which results in a rapid reduction of noise.

EFFECT: task accomplished by the invention is higher acoustic efficiency, i.e. reduced engine noise level.
