In a method of monitoring emergency situations on man-related spacecraft the parameters are determined relative to the position of the infrared pulse signals emitters, arranged on movable parts of astronauts, the parameters are measured, location coordinates values of the infrared pulse signals emitters in the coordinate system of spacecraft are determined, parameters of the current position of astronauts, moving elements relative to spacecraft are determined, operations necessary to perform on spacecraft in case of emergency detection taking into account values of the parameters of current and predicted position of astronauts are determined. System for monitoring emergency situations on man-related spacecraft includes units of the infrared pulse signals emitters, arranged on different movable parts of astronauts, radio receiving devices with interface facilities, position-sensitive detectors and optical systems.

EFFECT: increase in efficiency of monitoring emergency situations.
