FIELD: motor vehicle industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automotive industry, particularly, to winter tire tread. Tread comprises plurality of units (3) with height H. Each unit has contact surface (7) intended for contact with road during pneumatic tire movement, and at least side surface (5a, 5b). This side surface is coated with covering material layer (10), at least, on 50 % of surface. Unit comprises attack zone, intended for implementation of primary contact with road during pneumatic tire movement. This unit (3) has inclined direction of extension (J), so that attack zone of this unit is angle of attack (9). Besides, unit (3) contains part (11), not coated with coating material, wherein said coating material has modulus of elasticity, which exceeds unit forming rubber material modulus of elasticity, and this uncovered part (11) stretches from angle of attack, at least for 1/3 of unit height H.
EFFECT: better tire adhesion on snow-covered road at reduction of noise.
