FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used during arc welding and building up of metal parts from high-strength steels in atmosphere of protective gas and under flux. Wire consists of metal rod with nanocomposite coating, consisting of a metal matrix and nanosize particles of fluorides and borides of rare-earth metals with particle size less than 1,000 nm, at following volume ratio of matrix and nanosized particles in coating, %: metal matrix 55-96, nanosized particles of fluoride or a mixture of rare-earth metal fluorides 3-20, nanosized particles of boride or a mixture of rare-earth metal borides 1-25.
EFFECT: welding wire increases strength, ductility and impact strength of welded joints of high-strength steels.
