FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used during arc welding and building up of metal parts in a protective gas medium and under flux. Wire comprises a metal rod and an electrolytically deposited nanocomposite coating, including a metal matrix with nanoparticles distributed therein. Said coating contains nanoparticles of fluoride or a mixture of rare-earth metal fluorides and nanoparticles of hexaboride or a mixture of alkali-earth metal hexaborides at following volume ratio of matrix and nanoparticles in coating, %: metal matrix 55–96, nanoparticles of fluoride or a mixture of fluorides 3–20, nanoparticles of hexaboride or a mixture of hexaborides 1–25. Rare-earth metal fluoride is selected from a group consisting of lanthanum fluoride, yttrium fluoride and cerium fluoride. Alkali-earth metal hexaboride is selected from a group, including calcium hexaboride, barium hexaboride and strontium hexaboride.
EFFECT: welding wire increases strength, ductility and impact strength of welded joints of pipes and crypto-resistant steels of high strength.
