FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analysis of materials by optical means, specifically to methods of passive remote television identification of objects, and can be used in systems for identification of type and nationality of objects, for example aircraft in flight. Identification of type and nationality of aircraft in flight is performed on two channels: identification channel of type of aircraft based on its geometrical characteristics and on nationality identification channel of aircraft based on colour of tail unit and aircraft fuselage. In photodetector video frames of image of aircraft are converted into electrical signals and transmitted to a unit for binary quantisation of electric signals. From output of unit for binary quantisation signals converted into information matrix are transmitted to input of unit for measuring image geometrical characteristics: area, perimeter, length and width. Identification of type of aircraft is carried out based on its geometrical characteristics of image: shape coefficient and eccentricity. Eccentricity of image is determined by ratio of measured values of length and width of image - sides of rectangular frame, approximating image. From output of unit for calculating eccentricity calculated value is transmitted to input of unit for identification of type of aircraft. Unit for identification of type of aircraft uses hardware information processing methods based on obtained relationships between image shape coefficient values and its eccentricity.
EFFECT: technical result is high reliability of identification of type and nationality of aircraft.
