FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing SiO2 granules by freezing and re-thawing SiO2 suspension, wherein separation of liquid and sediment composed of agglomerated SiO2 particles occurs in course of thawing, liquid removed is decanted and residual moisture in sediment is removed by a drying step with formation of SiO2 granules.
EFFECT: according to invention, alkali metal-free bases in form of nitrogen hydrides are added to suspension to set pH greater than 7.
