SUBSTANCE: invention relates to computing devices used in communication networks for data exchange. Operational profiles for consumers of computational resources can be automatically determined based on analysis of measurement of actual resource usage and other operating properties. Measurements can be made while the user, such as a virtual machine instance, uses computing resources, for example, provided by a host. Profile can be dynamically determined based on said measurements. Profiles can be generalized so, that groups of consumers with similar usage profiles are connected with a single profile. Allocation decisions can be received on the basis of profiles, and computing resources can be reallocated or reused, if profiles indicate that the consumers hardly fully use resources, reserved for them. Reused resources can be tracked, and users can be transferred to other resource providers, if the competition for resources is too stressed.

EFFECT: technical result is providing configuring a system of computing devices with preset operating parameters.
