SIMULTANEOUS MULTI-MODALITY INVERSE OPTIMIZATION FOR RADIOTHERAPY TREATMENT PLANNING Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC A61B6/00

Abstract RU 2605998 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical equipment, namely to systems for multimodal radiotherapy planning. System for optimization of a multimodal radiation therapy plan employing both photon beam and ion beam radiation treatments includes an input graphical user interface (GUI), which contains a display, optimizer and simulator. Method of optimization of a multimodal radiation therapy plan employing both photon beam and an ion beam, comprises steps on which simultaneously optimize supply of dose from the device of photon and ion therapy in one or more simulation models, one or more simulation models created in accordance with optimization parameters, results of optimization process displayed in real time by displaying a dose on the display, while the optimized dose supplied from one of the photon therapy device or ion therapy device is added during dose optimization supplied by means of another device. Processor for optimization of a multimodal radiation therapy plan is configured to perform computer-executable instructions for implementing the method. Computer-readable storage medium, which carries computer commands that control the processor to execute the method.

EFFECT: invention enables minimize the patient radiation dose and increase accuracy of dose delivery.
