SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electronic terminals. Method of processing an application program, processes of which include a user interface process and a software part process, includes the following: at starting the application program read is the software part process identifier and/or the user interface process identifier in the configuration file of the application program; classified are corresponding subprograms contained in the application program by classes of processes according to the software part process identifier and/or the user interface identifier; implemented are the user interface process and the process of the said software part according to the classes; switched is the application program over from execution in the foreground into the same in the background mode (BM); determined is duration of execution of the application program in the BM and completed is the user interface process of the application program when duration of execution of the application program in the BM reaches the preset duration and continued is the software part process of the application program.

EFFECT: technical result is increased efficiency of using resources of electronic terminals for processing due to separate execution of the user interface process and the process of executing the application program.
