FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a coating composition, for example to dispersion or emulsion, method production and use of coating composition for producing paint films on substrates. Coating composition containing: a) particles of silanised colloidal silicon dioxide, having average particle diameter in range from 2 to 150 nm and weight ratio of silane to silicon dioxide in range of 0.05–0.4; b) a binding substance containing alkyd, where said binder represents an emulsion of short oil alkyd; c) liquid-carrier, selected from water, in which content of cobalt from cobalt-based siccative in composition is less than 200 ppm by weight of binder, containing alkyd. Also described is a method of producing and using coating composition.
EFFECT: technical result is obtaining a coating composition, which improves vapour permeability of film.
