Deflecting device (130) for deflecting charged particles is made to deflect a charged particle moving in third spatial direction (103) into the second spatial direction (102). Deflecting device (130) has first deflecting plate (210) and second deflecting plate (220), first deflecting plate (210) and second deflecting plate (220) are not flat, they are curved about an axis oriented in a first spatial direction (101), second deflecting plate (220) is disposed in a mirror-imaged manner in relation to first deflection plate (210), first, second and third spatial directions are perpendicular to each other.
EFFECT: selective deflection of separate particles or particle bunches from a beam of charged particles.
