METHOD OF EXTRACTING WATER-FREE OIL USING OIL CONE TECHNOLOGY Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC E21B43/12 E21B43/32

Abstract RU 2606266 C1

FIELD: oil industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to oil and gas industry and, in particular, development of deposits with contact water-oil transition zones (OWC). Method involves perforation of water-saturated formation zone below OWC. Water is taken from opened formation on forced mode until oil appears in extracted products – formation of oil cone. Perforated interval of water-saturated zone is isolated and further perforation of oil-saturated part of formation above OWC is carried out. Method includes further oil extraction to increase its water content – washing oil cone. When constant level of oil water content is achieved, when washing oil cone, well is stopped. Pump equipment is removed from well and equipment is lowered to determine new OWC level. Then said equipment is removed from well and existing perforation of oil-saturated part of formation is isolated. Method includes conservative perforated of interval of water-saturated zone of formation below new OWC level and forced extraction of water until oil appears in extracted products – formation of oil cone. Further, method includes isolating newly perforated interval of water-saturated zone and perforation of oil-saturated part of formation above new OWC level. Method then includes repeated extraction of oil to increase its water content above critical level – washing oil cone. Further steps are repeated on new OWC level.

EFFECT: technical result is higher efficiency of using oil cone technology to increase production of water-free oil.
