FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of protection from fouling by marine organisms (algae, maxillopods, mussels and others) of underwater parts of ship hulls and hydrotechnical structures, particularly to anti-fouling paints, and can be used in shipbuilding industry and hydraulic engineering. Proposed is a composition based on a vinyl polymer and oxides of transition metals in concentrations required for suppression of fouling, but not toxic for biofouling organisms, with addition of colophony, herewith the composition is additionally introduced with a salt or a mixture of salts of the same transition metals, herewith the said salt or salt mixture is introduced in the form of a colloidal solution of silica sol obtained by acid hydrolysis of silicon alkoxy compounds.
EFFECT: technical result is higher concentration of bioactive ions in the water layer, as well as the possibility of controlling the rate of leaching.
