FIELD: shipbuilding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of protection from biofouling and can be used in shipbuilding for protecting underwater part of ship hull, ship devices and mechanisms in contact with water, marine drilling rigs, port structures. Proposed method of protecting using polymer coating, containing wt%: epoxy rubber adduct based on low-molecular polysulphide and butadiene nitrile rubber and excess low-molecular epoxy resin is 61.0-62.0; amine type hardener is 6.5-7.0; pigments are 2.5-3.5, oligoesteroxide is 8.0-8.5 and antifouling additive is 19.0-22.0. Antifouling additive is represented by lanthanum, cobalt or manganese oxides or mixtures thereof. Antifouling additive can be introduced together with other components and by spraying after mixing of all other components and their application on protected surface.
EFFECT: disclosed method enables to achieve high degree of protection against biofouling and providing high resistance to biofouling.
