FIELD: metal processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming and can be used in production of tubes or rolled section, on continuous lengthwise rolling mills. Method involves determination of coordinates of design gauge centres, formed by streams of rolls of all mill stands using a coordinate-measurement system based on a laser tracker.
EFFECT: to enable determination of real axis of rolling mill with installed rolls, method includes initially determining coordinates of at least two points, located on surface of radius section of bottom section of each roll and located in plane passing through axes of rolls, then calculating actual coordinates of centre of gauge of every mill stand and latter is compared with coordinates of design gauge centres.
