FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, oncology and radiology and can be used for treatment of soft tissue sarcomas (STC), their recurrences. Local hyperthermia is performed 3 times a week, starting its simultaneously with radiation therapy, at 43 °C during 60 minutes before operation involves radiation in mode of average fractionation at single basic dose of 3.0 Gy, 5 fractions a week, 10–12 sessions. Further surgical treatment includes wide excision of tumor with IORT 10 Gy. Wherein pause between local hyperthermia and radiation therapy session makes 15–20 minutes.
EFFECT: method provides improved survival rate of patients with recurrent soft tissue sarcoma, reducing rate of local recurrence, distant metastasis and improving quality of life by taking into account radio-biological features of tumor cells and time of vascular reactions compensation in response to hyperthermia.
