FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to AC electric machines operation and is intended for recovery of design characteristics of their windings insulation. According to the method of electrical machine winding insulation, direct current of 10–60 % of winding current rate value is passed through the winding with 1–10 seconds intervals. Intervals of direct current action are paused, different from the above intervals in 0.5–1.5 times. In particular case of the invention low direct current is fed to the winding ends for passing direct current through the winding, said direct current is increased until the direct current rate reaches the set value. In another particular case resistance of insulation is determined during pauses and when its set value is reached the current supply is stopped.
EFFECT: provides for drying winding insulation, which prevents risk of damage of insulation material with decreased drying time.
