FIELD: optics; communication.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication engineering and can be used in optical communication systems. For this purpose following things are proposed: optical communication system aircraft-ground and method of transmitting optical data between remote terminal (20), having n optical communication terminals (OT1–OTn), and ground terminal (30), having group of n optical ground stations (OGS1–OGSn), which are connected to each other by means of n optical channels (DL1–DLn), and n optical channels (UC1–UCn), wherein said system is characterized by spatial diversity of optical channels (DL1–DLn) and spacing in time of optical channels (UC1–UCn).
EFFECT: technical result consists in improved carrying capacity.
