FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to energy converters of optical and radiation emitters into electrical energy and can be used in explosive premises – mines, unmanned aircraft, night indicators, sensors located in hard-to-reach places, etc. Original “slit” design of optical and radiation converter is presented containing vertical slots or channels in semiconductor plate of n(p) type of conductivity, on surface of which vertical p-n transitions are located, which are filled with material of radioactive isotopes, wherein on surface of horizontal p-n transitions of plate dielectric layer transparent for optical radiation is located. Method of making proposed design of optical and radiation converter is also proposed.
EFFECT: invention provides possibility of expansion of application field of converter on optical range, increasing its efficiency, allowing to obtain maximum electric power per unit volume and weight of converter and simplification of manufacturing technology.
