SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a polymerisation catalyst composition. Composition contains a catalyst activator and a complex of a lanthanide metal of general formula

where M is a lanthanide metal atom; L is a neutral Lewis base; z is an integer from 0 to 2, inclusive, provided that (1) all L are identical, when z is equal to 2, and (2) M is Nd or Gd, when z equals 0; R1 is a divalent atom or a group which contains at least one of C, O, S, N, P, Si, Se, Sn or B; each R2 independently represents H, halogen atom, substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon group, a radical of a heterocyclic compound or heteroatom-containing group and R3 represents a halogen-containing group, a group containing an Al atom, or R2, provided that (1) two groups R2 together with atoms to which each of said groups is bonded, can form a ring structure, (2) one group of R2 and R1 or R3 together with atoms to which each of said groups is bonded can form a ring structure and/or (3) R1 and R3 together with atoms to which each of said groups is bonded can form a ring structure. Also disclosed is a method of producing a polymer.
EFFECT: disclosed composition enables to obtain an olefin/polyene interpolymer with predominant content polyene monomer links.
